You can order several different cheap (but still high quality) bookmarks with each order (up to 10 different designs). However, all designs must be ordered in equal numbers.
So, you can order 1,000 of each of ten designs (for a total order of 10,000 cheap bookmarks), but you cannot order 1,000 of each of five designs and 5,000 of a sixth design.
Why bleeds are important when offset printing bookmarks
If your file is going to have any background colours, images or text that will be printing right to the very edge of the page, then please make sure that all pages have bleeds.
The greatest advantage of understanding bleeds are:
- There is a 35-40% chance that your job will have problems if you do not understand bleeds. Alternately;
- There is a 60-65% chance that your job will not have a single problem if you do understand bleeds.
How to set up your bookmark printing file
We have a page that contains some general information on how to set up a bookmark printing file. We also have some pages that are devoted to some specific software packages:
-
How to Prepare InDesign files for printing.
-
How to Prepare Illustrator files for printing.

How can the bookmarks be both cheap and high quality?
What we do is 'gang' all our bookmarks, appointment cards and business card on to the one print run.
Our bookmarks, business cards and appointment cards are printed on B1 presses. These are huge, and about 120 different bookmarks and cards can be printed on the one set of printing plates. So, the huge cost of eight (8) B1-sized plates is shared between the 120 different bookmark, business card and appointment card jobs — your specific cheap (but still high quality) bookmark will take up only a small portion of the plates, and you will therefore only incur a small portion of the cost of creating those huge B1 printing plates.
